The Basics
Tyree Patterson is a 6-2, 175-pound wide receiver from Eustis High School in Eustis, Florida. Tyree is rated as a 3-star prospect, the 79th receiver nationally and the 92nd best player in the state of Florida. In the 247 sports composite rankings he comes in at 570th overall. At the time of his commitment, he had 5 total offers according to 247 sports, Florida being his only power-5 offer. He had also received interest from Florida State and offers from schools like Liberty and North Texas.

Listed members of the large Florida WR room by current class include Marcus Burke (Current RS-Freshman), Ja’Markis Weston (Sophomore), Daejon Reynolds (Sophomore), Fenley Graham Jr. (Sophomore), William Sawyer (RS Sophomore), Daniel Cross (RS Junior), Taylor Spierto (RS Freshman), Khaleil Jackson (RS Freshman), Trent Whittemore (RS Sophomore), Justin Shorter (RS Junior), Xzavier Henderson (Sophomore), Ja’Quavion Fraziars (Sophomore). They will also add incoming 2022 freshman Caleb Douglas this fall.
Tyree Patterson is currently the only WR committed in the 2023 class, but Florida plans to add more guys at the position through exploring both high school and transfer options.

Patterson will be coming into a large WR room as a freshman. At 6-2, 175 pounds he will likely need to add some mass to be able to physically compete in the SEC. There will be many upperclassmen receivers on the roster in 2023. Tyree will likely not see much playing time at receiver his first year or two. His likely route to the field early on would be on special teams. As upperclassmen graduate, declare for the draft, or transfer out some space could clear up. He could see the field consistently by his junior year if he develops.
My take on this commitment
Coach Billy Napier and his staff are considered to be great evaluators of talent by many among media and coaching circles. Despite being in the running for many 5- and 4-star receivers, they decided to take an early commitment from Patterson. This could mean that the Florida staff may see something in him that evaluators may have missed. Florida taking him this early could possibly be because they feel his recruitment and rankings could blow up in the future, so by taking him early they wouldn’t have to worry about losing out on him later down the line in his recruitment. Depending on how highly rated he ends up, the expectations for Patterson could be to get on the field earlier than anticipated.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
