It may seem bad as it’s a massive change and soon players will be making more than coaches as we see in the NFL, but it only seems bad because it is paired with free agency. I’ll have more on this in a Mind of Mike but changes need to be made. And they aren’t about players getting money.
The NCAA doesn’t deserve its bad reputation
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I know many current and former NCAA employees. They are good people and work hard. But enforcement, the area everyone makes fun of, is so understaffed it’s ridiculous. And this was before NIL and portal tampering. Now it’s just impossible to regulate and that’s on the higher-ups. Staff up, set some real rules with serious punishments, and let’s focus less on Nebraska having an extra special teams coach and more on behind door deals with recruits and transfers that college programs are more than aware of.
Texas will be back
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Okay, what does back mean? 8-4? 9-3? A national title? I’m going to say 9-3 and in the mix for the playoff at least to the mid-season point. So why do I say FICTION? Poor Texas has Alabama and Oklahoma in their first six games and will be eliminated from any playoff talk after losses to both. The second half of the schedule is also brutal with potential losses to Oklahoma State, Baylor, Iowa State, and others. And Kansas is on there too — just saying. I like the roster for Texas, I really do. But until they show me something on the field I can’t say they will be back.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
