— I like Pat Narduzzi and what he’s done at Pitt but c’mon. The pointed comments regarding how Kedon Slovis used the portal the right way as a shot at Jordan Addison hit me wrong. Addison used it the right way as well. He went through the spring, didn’t like what he saw, and left. It’s life.
— Anyone else annoyed at these stories of players like Zay Flowers and Xavier Worthy turning down six and seven-figure deals to stay with their teams? This isn’t about the players, kudos to them. It’s about where we are in college football. This is going to be “the thing” now — praising those who stay and making villains of those who leave. And it seems petty. Shame on the NCAA and the powers that be in college for letting us get to this point.
— Arch Manning will end up at Texas, that’s the feel I have. Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and others are options and perhaps better options honestly but I’ve been saying this since his first visit to Austin. He and his family love the feel of Texas as a college town where he can be as much of a normal student as possible. He will likely commit to the Longhorns this summer but a change of heart is possible if they are horrible and if Steve Sarkisian is under fire again.
— Do you realize that now any new coach at a new school who wins a national title now will not get the credit they deserve. They will have “bought it”. Do you realize that any coach who works his ass off to recruit a player out of high school or the portal will get no credit for the hard work as the player chose the school “for NIL”? And do you know more and more good head and assistant coaches are going to look for jobs in the NFL as college football becomes impossible to navigate? Yep.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
