The transfer portal never sleeps – let’s take a look at the five best defensive backs available right now.
1. Daymon David – Oregon
Transfer portal entry date: 5-6-2022
Career at Oregon: During his true freshman season in 2021, David saw spot duty in nine games and played on special teams. During his time on the field, he totaled nine tackles, while also dealing with some nagging injuries.
Current situation: When David initially entered the portal, the two schools that were immediately mentioned as possible destinations were Florida State and Auburn. And while those schools are involved, more so the Seminoles, they have plenty of competition from the likes of Kansas, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Duke, Tulsa, and UConn.
2. Miguel Edwards – Western Kentucky
Transfer portal entry date: 4-29-2022
Career at Western Kentucky/Oklahoma: Edwards signed with Oklahoma coming out of high school in 2018, but then transferred to Independence C.C. after one game of the 2019 season. During his one season with the Hilltoppers, he totaled 38 tackles, two interceptions, and four pass breakups.
Current situation: Interest has been steady for Edwards since he entered the portal, with some of the more active schools being Louisville, Iowa State, SMU, West Virginia, TCU, Ball State, Tulane, Miami (OH), Kent State, and Old Dominion.
