Recruiting Round-Up 7/28 Osceola High School Football Shows Out!

In today’s edition of recruiting round-up, we take a look at the day Osceola High had in recruiting! The school featured a trio of blue-chip prospects who all chose to play at some big-time places at the next level. The Kowboys have had some strong consecutive seasons in large part due to this trio of ball players. The high school is located in Kissimmee, FL, and plays in the 8A Florida classification.

Four-Star CB Ja’Keem Jackson Commits to Florida

Ja’keem is listed at 6’1 180 pounds and is a former WR turned DB who has tremendous speed and quick twitch ability, and length as a defensive back. This young man can shoot up in the rankings before his senior year ends as he just made the switch last season and only played a handful of games back there. He has all the traits, and skills you want but will need to refine and work on technique. As of now, I would think he will need a redshirt season at Florida before being ready to play significant snaps.

Four-star Florida DB Jakeem Jackson is set to announce his commitment tonight between Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Penn State, and Auburn.

Four-Star DL Derrick LeBlanc Commits to Oklahoma

LeBlanc is the prime example of what recruiting now means for Oklahoma with Todd Bates and Brent Venables manning the defense. This is a recruitment that simply wouldn’t be possible with the previous staff, Going into Florida and winning an interior defensive lineman? Not happening. This staff has the chops to win these types of battles anywhere in the country, and it was a big one. Really big in fact 6’4 270 as a high school junior big. Leblanc is a monster an athletic freak who is a strong anchor in the run game, and a guy who can get after the QB on the edge or in the interior. He is one of those three-year type kids so expect the Sooners to get him reps early in his career.

BREAKING: Four-Star DL Derrick LeBlanc has Committed to Oklahoma!

The 6’5 265 DL from Kissimmee, FL chose the Sooners over Florida and Penn State.

Four-Star DL John Walker Commits UCF

The last of the trio is John Walker who chose Central Florida over the Buckeyes and a few other bigger names. Another big athlete at 6’3 300 pounds who can play both inside and outside, though likely projects in the interior. Strong at the point of attack, and a run lane clogger. Should be an immediate impact guy at UCF, as these are the kinds of players  UCF is not accustomed to getting out of high school. He is a disruptive force with heavy hands and is consistently in the backfield on tape. Home run snag for Gus Malzahn and crew.

It’s UCF for Top247 DL John Walker. Huge win for Gus Malzahn, Kenny Martin and the rest of the folks in Orlando. Some VIP notes on what exactly the Knights are getting: https://t.co/UDKSurZ7dj pic.twitter.com/YyiXeneJA7
