Recruiting Round-Up 7/10/22

In today’s edition of recruiting round-up, we start with the Tennessee Volunteers, who have been trending up on the recruiting scene under head coach Josh Heupel. The Vols have put together quite a start to the 2023 class and have had several quality commitments over the last couple of days. This has them currently with a top-five class for the cycle, while a top ten class or even top 15 finish is more likely; undeniable things are trending great for the Volunteers now.

Five-Star Edge Chandavian Bradley Commits to Tennessee

Bradley is a 6’5 220-pound edge from Platte City, MO. Chandavian is long and athletic; he can drop into coverage and get after the passer. He has a significant first step, is tough to corral uses body and length to get around tackles. Very raw from a technique standpoint, overall new to football. He has a track and baseball background, a freak athlete with star power all over him. For Bradley to play a lot in the SEC, he will need to add a lot of bulk onto his frame, so a redshirt appears mandatory in this case. I would venture to guess he is a three-year player with his athletic upside. Heupel has done a great job setting up the future of the Tennessee program.

Four-Star Defensive Lineman Jason Moore Commits to Ohio State

The Buckeyes are on a roll now in the recruiting game as they have eclipsed Notre Dame in the composite ranking for the top-ranked spot. Jason Moore is a 6’6 255-pound defensive tackle from Hyattsville, MD. He has the ideal length and body type for the role and is quite athletic. He also played basketball until his junior year to focus solely on football. It has a nice get-up and go and collapses pocket well—strong competitive motor despite facing tons of double teams. Great pick up for the Buckeyes; the top 50 prospect has over 30 offers and chose Ohio State shortly after an official visit late in June.

Four-Star LB Raylen Wilson Commits to Georgia

Raylen Wilson is 6’2 213 pounds and is from Tallahassee, Florida. Wilson is an explosive athlete with sideline-to-sideline speed. He is a multiple-sport athlete who stars in track. Returns kicks and punts for Lincoln high school Quality athlete. He will need to show improvement from a physical standpoint, but he is a tremendous Blitzer because of his natural talents. The solid player added for the Dawgs, who continue to get strong recruits yearly. Raylen has fantastic instincts and plays recognition abilities. Too slight of build to play early will likely need one or two offseasons in the college weight program.

Four Star Edge Adepoju Adebawore Commits to Oklahoma

The Sooners have been rapidly climbing the ladder in the recruiting game over the past two weeks, notching seven commitments. The Sooners are not nearly done, so stay tuned for a move from Venables squad. Adepoju Adebawore goes by PJ and is listed at 6’4 240 pounds. This kid is a special athlete, likely a five-star by cycle end. There is not an aspect of being a defensive end he can’t do as well as OLB coverage skills if need be. He is a chiseled body type, with elite fast-twitch and play strength. He changes direction well for a big man and has tremendous pursuit ability. I would anticipate PJ playing as a true freshman because of his unique physical gifts. Ideally, he puts on 20 pounds before his freshman season begins.
