There’s always something going on in the transfer portal – here’s how Big Ten teams have done bringing in new talent.

1. Ole Miss (21)
The skinny: Coach Lane Kiffin has made portal life fun while finding an impressive amount of success along the way. There are numerous additions who have the potential to make a big impact, including quarterback Jaxson Dart (USC), running backs Zach Evans (TCU) and Ulysses Bentley (SMU), offensive lineman Mason Brooks (Western Kentucky), defensive linemen Jared Ivey (Georgia Tech) and Khari Coleman (TCU) and defensive back Isheem Young (Iowa State)
2. LSU (17)
The skinny: The Tigers added plenty of important pieces through the portal. Offensively, quarterback Jayden Daniels (Arizona State) and offensive lineman Miles Frazier (FIU) were big portal recruiting victories, while the defensive unit was given a big jolt with additions like defensive backs Jarrick Bernard (Oklahoma State) and Gregory Brooks (Arkansas), defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo (Missouri) and linebacker West Weeks (Virginia).
3. Alabama (5)
The skinny: The Tide basically found five players who should all be important parts of the 2022 team. The offense should be even better after adding running back Jahmyr Gibbs (Georgia Tech), wide receivers Jermaine Burton (Georgia) and Tyler Harrell (Louisville) and offensive lineman Tyler Steen (Vanderbilt), while the defense picked up an immediate starter with defensive back Elias Ricks (LSU).
4. South Carolina (11)
The skinny: This portal season immediately became a success for South Carolina when they added quarterback Spencer Rattler (Oklahoma). But they also found several weapons for their new signal caller with receivers Corey Rucker (Arkansas State) and Antwane Wells (James Madison), plus running back Christian Beal (Wake Forest).

5. Arkansas (9)
The skinny: The Razorbacks succeeded in improving their defensive unit with several big additions. Linebacker Drew Sanders (Alabama), defensive back Dwight McGlothern (LSU) and defensive lineman Jordan Domineck (Georgia Tech) will add talent to every level of the unit. Offensively, wide receiver Jadon Haselwood (Oklahoma) should seamlessly replace Treylon Burks, who was selected in the first round of this spring’s NFL Draft.
6. Missouri (15)
The skinny: The Tigers have somewhat quietly put together an impressive portal group. The entire defensive line was revamped with five additions, including Kristian Williams (Oregon), Jayden Jernigan (Oklahoma State) and DJ Coleman (Jacksonville State). Offensively, running back Nathaniel Peat (Stanford) could be in line for a big season with the departure of Tyler Badie to the NFL.
7. Auburn (10)
The skinny: The Tigers added several intriguing players, but which will make the quickest impact? The best guess is the duo from Oregon, defensive back DJ James and defensive lineman Jayson Jones. Both look more than ready to contribute in the SEC. On the offensive side, wide receiver Koy Moore (LSU) was an important addition at a position of need.
8. Florida (8)
The skinny: Three of coach Billy Napier’s players followed him from Louisiana to Gainesville, with all of them, offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence, defensive back Kamryn Waites and running back Montrell Johnson, talented enough to make an impact in the SEC. Defensive back Jalen Kimber (Georgia) and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (Arizona State) are two more to watch.
9. Kentucky (6)
The skinny: The Wildcats needed a replacement for the departed Wan’Dale Robinson and likely found him with Tayvion Robinson (Virginia Tech). Keidron Smith (Ole Miss) and Zion Childress (Texas State) will both be important contributors in the secondary, while defensive lineman Darrion Henry-Young (Ohio State) looks poised for a big season.
10. Tennessee (9)
The skinny: This group may very well be judged by the potential that Bru McCoy (USC) holds. Will he finally play up to that potential in Knoxville? Defensive back Andre Turrentine (Ohio State) should also make himself right at home in the Vols’ secondary.
11. Mississippi State (10)
The skinny: The Bulldogs should see the biggest portal impact in their secondary, where Jackie Matthews (West Virginia), Hunter Washington (Florida State) and Marcus Banks (Alabama) will all be expected to contribute this fall.
12. Vanderbilt (6)
The skinny: With academic restrictions, the Commodores are never going to be very busy in the portal. However, they did add a few players who have the potential to flourish this season, including defensive back Jeremy Lucien (UConn), linebacker Kane Patterson (Clemson) and offensive lineman Jacob Brammer (North Texas)
13. Texas A&M (2)
The skinny: The Aggies were not very busy during this portal cycle, but they did land their likely 2022 quarterback when Max Johnson (LSU) joined the Aggies.
14. Georgia (0)
The skinny: While the Bulldogs were never going to be active in the portal, it is somewhat surprising that they have not picked up anyone. However, this is not something that anyone in Athens is worried about.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
