Since joining ESPN, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been very open regarding his time with the Tide. This continued Friday night during NFL Draft coverage when he mentioned Alabama’s attempts to try and get an opposing player to transfer to Tuscaloosa.

Wyatt Milum, who was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round, enjoyed an impressive career with West Virginia which included an All-American season in 2024. He was also a top-level high school recruit who decided to stay in-state and play for the Mountaineers despite interest from many of the top programs in the country.

This included Alabama and Coach Saban, which hosted Milum on multiple visits during his recruiting process. And while the Tide lost out on Milum to West Virginia, Saban’s admission that they continued to pursue the future All-American after he signed with the Mountaineers is a bold revelation.

It isn’t a secret that tampering happens. Nowadays, if a school isn’t tampering then they’re not trying. But to blatantly hear about it on national television is just another example of how rampant it is.
