This year’s NFL Draft was lacking top-flight talent, so most teams decided to go with needs rather than worry about where someone was drafted. A ton of teams found perfect fits. Below are some of the best fits in the first round of the NFL Draft.
“I’m going to fight and die to protect him (Drake Maye)” – Will Campbell

New England Patriots: Will Campbell
I love this pick for multiple reasons. First, this is a culture pick for new head coach Mike Vrabel. Campbell is a character guy you can build around as a football program. Second, it fills a massive need at left tackle for the Patriots. The concern is he might have to slide inside to play guard. While not ideal, he still could be a good player at guard. This is a perfect fit for the Patriots and will make last year’s first-round pick quarterback, Drake Maye, happy that he will be protected moving forward.

Cleveland Browns: Mason Graham
This is a great fit for the Cleveland Browns and Graham. The reason is that he gets to play next to Myles Garrett, one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. This pick allows Garrett to get more one-on-one matchups. Plus, this allows Graham to get matchups that will help him be successful. He will also be a good run stopper, which Garrett sometimes struggles with. Love the fit and pick for Browns.

Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty
Jeanty is a perfect fit for the Las Vegas Raiders. The reason I love this pick is the coaching staff of the Raiders. Pete Carroll loves to run the ball and it is always a big part of his offense. Then you add offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, one of the best schemers of the run game in football, and you’ve got a perfect match.

Chicago Bears: Colston Loveland,
I love this pick for the Chicago Bears. I know people might be shocked that Loveland was drafted over Tyler Warren, but I get it. Loveland is a better athlete than Warren, and I feel like he has a chance to be a great matchup piece in the NFL. Last year’s top pick, Caleb Williams needs a security blanket to throw the ball to, and Loveland can do that. Plus, new head coach Ben Johnson is a creative offensive mind and will find ways to create opportunities for Loveland.

Denver Broncos: Jahdae Barron
This is a great pick and fit for the Denver Broncos. Having the ability to pick a talented defensive back in Barron is an awesome fit and a need for the Broncos. Barron has a chance to be an excellent defensive back and could play as a cornerback or a hybrid safety.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Derrick Harmon
The Pittsburgh Steelers passed up a quarterback but took a talented defensive tackle in Harmon. He will have a chance to learn from one of the best defensive tackles in Cameron Heyward. He will be able to play next to him and grow as a player. I love the fit for the Steelers and Harmon.

New York Giants: Jaxson Dart
I am not sure Dart will turn out as a great quarterback in the NFL, but I like the fit for the New York Giants. The reason is Brian Daboll’s best success as an NFL coach was with Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Dart is not the prospect Allen was, but he has a similar type of skill set. Dabol loves quarterbacks who can move and have a strong arm. That is Dart.

Baltimore Ravens: Malaki Starks
This is a great fit for Starks and the Baltimore Ravens. They already have Kyle Hamilton, one of the best safeties in the NFL, so you can pair them together to create a dynamic pair in the back of the defense.

Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Simmons
Another amazing fit for is the Kansas City Chiefs and Simmons. Simmons is coming off a season-ending injury, so he might not be available at the start of the year, but the Chiefs are thinking about the long game with him. The fit is also great because Andy Reid and the Chiefs are one of the best offenses in the NFL. Simmons could develop into a legit left tackle.
