Ferris State has become one of the elite D2 programs in the country over the last decade, which included a 14-1 2024 season that concluded with a 49-14 National Championship victory over Valdosta State.
A big part of this was Chambliss, who finished his first season as a starter by passing for 2,925 yards, 26 touchdowns and only six interceptions while completing 61.6% of his attempts. He was equally impressive on the ground with 1,019 yards and 25 touchdowns rushing. His season earned him All-American honors and a third-place finish in the Harlon Hill Trophy voting, which the D2 version of the Heisman Trophy.
Chambliss, 6-foot-1 and 200-pounds, is a Michigan native who enters the portal with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He did not have to wait very long to receive his first FBS offer.
