After an interesting high school recruiting process, offensive lineman Alessandro Lorenzetti committed to Michigan back in the summer of 2021. Almost four years later, the 6-foot-6, 295-pounder will be looking for a new home.

Michigan lineman Alessandro Lorenzetti is set to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility left, per his agents @QCSports. The 6-foot-5, 295-pound Lorenzetti didn't see the field at Michigan. Former 3-star recruit from Connecticut.

Lorenzetti grew up in Montreal, Canada before deciding to play his high school football at a Connecticut boarding school, Loomis Chaffe. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lorenzetti did not play in 2020, which made him somewhat of an unknown when he arrived at several camps the following spring. What resulted were numerous impressive offers, including from Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Georgia, Baylor, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Indiana and Vanderbilt. After taking an official visit to Ann Arbor in June, a commitment followed a few days later.

With the Wolverines, Lorenzetti did not see the field during his three seasons. He also made the move from the offensive line to the defensive line prior to the 2023 season

With two years of eligibility remaining, Lorenzetti will become an intriguing addition to the transfer portal when it reopens next week. While he has yet to prove his abilities at the collegiate level, after three years in Ann Arbor, the experience he gathered and his size will pique the interest of many coaches.
