Having a father who has won a National Championship as a head coach should change your life. For Class of 2027 quarterback RJ Day, son of Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, it quickly made his life more interesting while navigating the chaos of the recruiting world. Thus far he has navigated it successfully, receiving multiple offers.

Bowling Green, with new head coach Eddie George, was Day’s most recent FBS offer. The Falcons join his growing list of offers which also includes Boston College, Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Akron, Miami-Ohio, Kent State, Marshall and Rhode Island.
He has also been receiving steady interest from program’s like Purdue, Cincinnati, Iowa State and Northwestern.
The 6-foot-1, 203-pound sophomore, who plays his high school football at St. Francis Desales in Columbus, Ohio, passed for 1,425 yards and 14 touchdowns during the 2024 season. His 2,993 career passing yards has already made him the school’s all-time leading passer in only two seasons.

While the offers will likely continue to pile up for Day during the upcoming weeks and months, the question everyone wonders about is if Ohio State will join the chase. It is a unique situation. Day is already a very good recruit but is he good enough to get an offer from the Buckeyes, who generally recruit and get five-star level signal callers.
Plenty of eyes will be on Coach Day to see how he navigates this situation, but either way his son is already positioned himself in a very good place for his future playing career.
