At Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, Maryland, starting quarterback and team captain Jake Forburger is the unquestioned leader on the field of the Wildcats.
Under head coach Aaron Fiddler, the Wildcats were a Top 10 team in Maryland going into the 2024 season, but finished 5-6.
At 6-2, 210 lbs., Forburger was a Top 50 high school player to watch in Maryland (#39) last season. He passed for 1500 yards, 19 touchdowns and only two interceptions in nine games. He completed 59 percent of his passes. That was good enough for 4A North Region first-team honors.

Forburger stands his ground in the pocket and will take the hit to ensure he completes the pass. When flushed from the pocket, he will lower his shoulder and run over you. In addition, Forburger is good at reading defenses and adjusting the play call pre-snap at the line of scrimmage.

The Godfather of Recruiting, Mike Farrell, said this about Forburger,
“Baller Alert! 2026 Verified 3-star QB Jake Forburger has a good arm, accuracy and can run. Big kid too, 6-2, 210.”
Forburger was thrust into the starting role as a sophomore and never looked back. He has the arm strength to make all the throws and the will to win. Look for Forburger to be on the radar of more college coaches in the coming months.
