As temperatures rise, so does the pace of football recruiting. March has been a very good month for Louisville, and that continued today with the commitment of four-star athlete Payton Cook (Hoban, OH).

Cook’s commitment comes days after an unofficial visit to Louisville. He chose the Cardinals over offers from Michigan, Miami, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others. The Wolverines were considered the leader by many, mostly due to his numerous trips to Ann Arbor, but the Cardinals, but with the help of new wide receivers coach Deion Branch, were able to pull off the upset.
Cook, 6-foot-2 and 170-pounds, is Louisville’s sixth commitment of March and their 12th overall. He joins other important recent commitments like DB Jaydin Broadnax (Boca Raton, FL), WR Marlon Harbin (Louisville, KY), RB Evan Hampton (Owensboro, KY) and DE Kevontay Hugan (Sarasota, FL).
Cook will likely play wide receiver with the Cardinals but has excelled on both sides of the ball with Archbishop Hoban. He showed off his defensive talents by leading the state of Ohio with an amazing 13 interceptions in 2024.
