Stanford hasn’t made a bowl since 2018, hasn’t won more than seven games since 2015 and is in the midst of a 12-36 run over the last four seasons. And somehow everything got even worse last night when an ESPN report revealed that head coach Troy Taylor has been accused of bullying female staff.

Latest for ESPN: 2 investigations reveal that football coach Troy Taylor bullied, belittled & retaliated against staff. One called Taylor: "an equal opportunity a-hole"https://t.co/hZLeEbi3xu

The report, by Xuan Thai, states that Coach Taylor “bullied and belittled female athletic staffers, sought to have an NCAA compliance officer removed after she warned him of rules violations and repeatedly made “inappropriate” comments to another woman about her appearance.”

Stanford was quick to respond, with the following statement from Coach Taylor:

“I willingly complied with the investigations, accepted the recommendations that came out of them, and used them as a learning opportunity to grow in leadership and how I interact with others,” Taylor said in the statement. “I look forward to continuing to work collaboratively and collegially with my colleagues so that we can achieve success for our football program together.”

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

This likely won’t end well for Coach Taylor, with the Stanford fanbase quickly pushing for termination. His on-field production hasn’t helped his situation as he has only gone 6-18 in his two seasons. Coach Taylor’s introductory news conference has also been a hot topic, specifically one comment regarding leading the program with love:

Considering this investigation has been ongoing since the spring of 2023, it didn’t take long for Coach Taylor to ruffle feathers in Palo Alto since he was hired on December 10, 2022. The biggest surprise is that it has taken this long to become public. The only thing that will be more surprising is if Coach Taylor doesn’t get fired in the coming days.
