With the high number of transfers annually changing schools, many will succeed at their new home while many will also disappoint. Below is a list of the five offensive players who will disappoint in 2025.
1. Princewill Umanmielen – Ole Miss (Nebraska)
Ole Miss did very well with one Umanmielen brother, Princely, who enjoyed an impressive season in 2024 with the Rebels after his transfer from Florida. Now they are hoping that Princewill will be able to do the same. One huge difference between the two is that Princely arrived after multiple productive seasons with the Gators, while Princewill arrives in Oxford after totaling 35 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in two seasons with Nebraska. Princewill has the potential to do well, but without doing it consistently to this point, it is asking a lot for him to suddenly become more productive in the SEC.
2. Keeshawn Silver – USC (Kentucky)
Silver began his collegiate career at North Carolina, where he failed to reach lofty expectations before transferring to Kentucky. In two seasons with the Wildcats, he improved his level of play, by totaling 43 tackles, three tackles for loss and one sack in two seasons. Silver is an experienced defensive tackle, which are highly sought after in the portal, but he doesn’t have the intangibles to make him a game changer on the interior defensive line. Expect a solid, yet unspectacular season from him in Los Angeles.

3. Romello Height – Texas Tech (Georgia Tech)
This will be both Height’s fourth school and conference, with previous stops at Georgia Tech, USC and Auburn. The veteran has had his two most productive seasons in 2023 and 2024 with USC and Auburn, totaling 54 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks, but he has yet to become the consistent disruptive defensive player many envisioned when he arrived at Georgia Tech. He was a nice addition for the Red Raiders, but it is unlikely that he will be a difference maker in Lubbock.
4. Kelby Collins – Alabama (Florida)
Collins hit the ground running as a true freshman with the Gators in 2023 with 23 tackles, two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. However, he regressed last season with only six tackles while playing in only six games. The big difference is that he played more in the interior in 2024 which seemed to stunt his development. At Alabama he is likely to return to the edge, which should help his game, but will it be enough for him to return to his 2023 form? He may improve as the season progresses, but expectations shouldn’t be for him to be an immediate contributor in 2025.

5. Tre Williams – Michigan (Clemson)
Williams is a solid player, but after being pampered with Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant on the interior of their defensive line, Michigan fans should temper their expectations. Having totaled 35 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and four sacks in five seasons with the Tigers, Williams will provide depth and experience in Ann Arbor.
