It took a little bit of time, but new North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick achieved his first flip since his arrival in Chapel Hill. Yesterday, four-star defensive tackle Trashawn Ruffin made his decision public to flip from Texas A&M to the Tar Heels. And this morning he confirmed that his process is complete:
Recruitment is shut down.

Coach Belichick didn’t have to go too far to work this flip, as Ruffin, 6-foot-3 and 300-pounds, plays his high school football at North Duplin in Mount Olive, North Carolina. While this is just under 100 miles from Chapel Hill, it is much closer than the 1,250 miles to College Station, Texas.
Ruffin had been committed to the Aggies since October and also held offers from schools like Michigan, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, LSU, Texas and USC. Rumors of this flip had been getting louder in recent weeks and intensified when Ruffin took a visit to North Carolina for the basketball game against Duke.
