St. Patrick’s Day is big for many reasons and in many places. For Notre Dame, it is also called Pot of Gold Day, as the Irish begin offering underclassmen.

This year that is the Class of 2027, with several top recruits already announcing their new offers throughout the morning. The announcements actually began on the West Coast, with LB Liufau Loumoli of East Catholic High School (WA) posting his offer a few minutes after midnight.

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

Once the sun rose this morning, the offer announcements have been coming in steadily. Just a few of note include running back Amir Brown from Rolesville (NC), defensive lineman Ben’Jarvius Shumaker (MS), tight end Seneca Drive from Boyle County (KY), defensive lineman Jamar Thompson from West Boca Raton (FL), wide receiver Zerek Sidney from Desert Edge (AZ) and in-state offers for wide receiver Monshun Sales from Lawrence North HS, defensive lineman Brayden Parks from Brother Rice HS and defensive end Jayce Brewer from Franklin Central High School.

The Irish have done a great job turning Pot of Gold Day into an event that high school recruits look forward to. Expect offers to continue throughout the day.
