The Bill Belichick/Jordan Hudson relationship has garnered plenty of attention, for plenty of reasons. But now it seems as though the relationship has leaked into Coach Belichick’s daily job as head coach at North Carolina according to Matt Hartman of The Athletic.

This request by Coach Belichick to the Communications Staff at North Carolina quickly sees his personal and work life collide. The request, which was made on December 16th, states:
“I am including Jordan on this email so she can also keep up with our postings. Can you include her on anything you send to me? Thank you.”

Something like this was bound to leak out, but it is surprising that it took almost four months to do so. There are two ways to look at this. First is that it is unprofessional of Coach Belichick to make this request. North Carolina has countless employees who can and/or should handle something like this. On the other hand, it makes sense for someone in their 20’s to be involved in the social media life of a 70+ year old. But that brings it back to the fact that there are plenty of UNC employees in their 20’s who would be happy to take on this task.
Overall, it’s an odd situation that would’ve been much better off remaining quiet, but now that it is public, Coach Belichick will have to deal with the resulting opinions and commentary. Does he care about these opinions though? It’s doubtful.
