While he may have some issues with his gameday coaching, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal has never had problems recruiting. That again continued last night when the Canes picked up a commitment from Ohio’s four-star offensive tackle Ben Congdon.

Congdon, who was on campus yesterday to check out a spring practice, had also taken recent visits to Penn State and Indiana before committing to the Canes. He held a long list of offers, including from the Nittany Lions, Hoosiers, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Florida, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Missouri, Florida State and Arkansas.
This battle really came down to Miami and Penn State, with his two scheduled official visits being scheduled to Coral Gables (6/20) and Happy Valley (6/6). It is unlikely that he still visits Penn State after yesterday’s commitment.
Congdon is Miami’s four Class of 2026 commitment and first offensive lineman. He joins cornerback Camdin Portis (Charlotte, NC), quarterback Dereon Coleman (Orlando, FL) and linebacker Jordan Campbell (Miami, FL).
