There has been debate about automatic bids to the college football playoff. Sherrone Moore gives his opinions to On3 Sports @PeteNakos_

Currently, there are five automatic bids for the college football playoffs. The champion of the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, ACC, and the top-ranked Group of Five get the auto-bids. The remaining seven teams are at-large bids selected by the CFP committee.
The Big Ten and SEC believe they should get more auto-bids. Those two league commissioners met recently in New Orleans to discuss bids, seeding, among other topics. Moore wants his league to get more auto-bids because they are the best.
“I would say we have the best conference in football. With us winning the national title in 2023 and Ohio winning in 2024, and as competitive as all the bowl games were, the Big Ten is back on top as the best conference in football,” Moore said.
With likely expansion of the playoffs in 2026 to 14 or 16 teams, the Big Ten and the SEC will probably get four automatic bids each. These bids will be determined by the standing in the leagues and not a committee. Maybe they can go to all auto-bids and we could get rid of the committee altogether.
