An All-American caliber 2023 season propelled East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel into position to be a first-round draft pick in this spring’s draft. However, an ACL injury early during the 2024 season quickly created some doubt. Yesterday, news was announced regarding the current status of his health as we enter NFL Combine week:

Overall, this is very good news for Revel and any team that is currently considering drafting him. While the injury was very unfortunate, at this time he is still projected by most experts to be a first-round draft pick.
Revel’s 2023 season, when he finished with 54 tackles, four tackles for loss, one interception and 13 passes defended, was more than enough to showcase his skillset and potential. And even though he only played in three games in 2024, he did total eight tackles, one tackle for loss and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
The knowledge that a healthy return for training camp is probable should be enough to make NFL teams happy and as a result make Revel equally excited to still be a first round draft pick in April despite his serious injury.
