The games scheduled for 2026 in Lincoln and 2027 in Knoxville will not be rescheduled according to
ESPN’s Pete Tamel.
Sources: Tennessee and Nebraska are canceling their upcoming football series, which was schedule for 2026 in Lincoln and 2027 in Knoxville. A driver of the move was Nebraska wanting eight home games in 2027 when they expected reduced stadium capacity because of renovations.

Memorial Stadium, home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, will be undergoing renovations, limiting the
seating capacity. Nebraska wants eight home games to make up for some of the lost revenue.
The Huskers will have to pay $500,000 to cancel these games that were agreed upon in 2006 according
to @Brett_McMurphy.
Tennessee athletic director Danny White wanted to make it clear that Tennessee didn’t want to cancel
these games:

It is unfortunate that this series is being canceled. It is exciting for the fans to see games between the
Big 10 and SEC outside of the bowls and playoffs. Tennessee will now have to scramble to find
opponents to fill those dates.
