Daniel Odom
Bellflower, CA (St. John Bosco)
Committed to Oklahoma
The Sooners landed their fourth commit of 2026 with the four-star wideout from California. Caleb Odom had 21 offers and ended up choosing Oklahoma over Texas and Oregon following a visit to Norman over the weekend. In 2024, he recorded 45 receptions, 682 yards, and five touchdowns.
Odom has great height and size at 6’1″ 178 pounds. Good athletic ability with very good foot quickness, change of direction, good lateral agility, foot speed, balance, and explosiveness. Good release off the line of scrimmage, using his foot quickness and lateral movement to get past press coverage with a shoulder dip into his route stem. Good route running, keeping his stems similar and using his very good change of direction and good speed to create separation quickness at the top of the route.
Possesses a good understanding of how to use his size as an advantage when adjusting to the pass. Good hands to secure the pass with good grip strength to complete the catch through contact. Good run after the catch with good acceleration and speed to turn upfield with good vision and solid elusiveness to evade defenders and good strength and physical toughness to absorb contact and fall forward.
Odom will need to develop his strength and explosiveness in his route running to run through defensive backs who get hands on him. Overall, a very good prospect whose route running and separation quickness will add good early competition to the WR room, and will be a key feature to the offense by year three by becoming a dependable possession receiver for his quarterback with big play potential.

He engages offensive tackles with good hand placement to create leverage, keeping his eyes on the ball to make a run/pass read. Good speed rush with good cornering speed around offensive tackles, using a rip move with good bend to become a small target and close on the quarterback. Good inside rip move after setting up the outside rush. Solid power rush to push offensive tackles in a bull rush. Will need to develop a more comprehensive pass rush plan adding to his speed rush and developing his power rush to consistently win in the P4. Overall, a good prospect who should have an opportunity to compete for early rotational reps before settling into a starting role.
Jack Utz
Platte City, MO (Platte County)
Committed to Kansas
Kansas is another school that’s been active early in the Class of 2026, as TE Jack Utz is the ninth commitment in Janurary and the 11th overall. It’s paying early dividends, as the class is ranked 11th in the country. Utz had 21 offers and chose the Jayhawks over Ole Miss, Missouri, Nebraska, and others.
Utz has a good height and frame at 6’5″ 225 pounds. Good athletic ability displaying very good foot quickness and lateral agility, good explosiveness, change of direction, solid foot speed, balance, and flexibility. A balanced tight end who can be utilized in both the running and passing games.
He’s a very good zone blocker, with very good quickness and lateral movement off the snap in Reach, and Scoop blocks to create leverage on outside shaded defenders, with good hand placement and strength to sustain the block. Solid gap blocker, with good leg drive and grip strength in base blocks, with the athleticism to block linebackers on the second level taking good angles. Solid route runner with solid release off the line of scrimmage, using his size and lateral movement to get into his route stem. Good processing and awareness in his routes to find the hole in the zone and settle for his quarterback. Good adjustment to throws with good hands to secure the pass with solid run-after-catch ability. Runs with good balance and physicality as a ball carrier with solid elusiveness.
Utz needs to develop his core strength and balance to not lean into his Gap and Pass Pro blocks. Room to develop his route tree and refine his routes to create better separation quickness at the top of his routes. Overall, a solid prospect who can be kept on the field on all downs and situations due to his effectiveness as a run blocker and receiver. Projects to be in the rotation by year two.
