Since he made the announcement that he would return to Penn State for the 2025 season, Drew Allar’s NFL stock has continued to rise. Could that change his mind about not entering this spring’s NFL Draft?

The latest information should not be considered good news for Penn State fans, who should have one eye on the upcoming semifinal game against Notre Dame and the other on the future of their star quarterback.

Spoke with a front office source regarding Penn State QB Drew Allar and he said Allar is a guy that the league thinks much more highly of than fans and the media do. Scouts rave about his size, arm, and ability to “manipulate the pocket.” Added if Allar does declare he will be a… pic.twitter.com/tWyTCld8lp

While Allar hasn’t excelled statistically during playoff victories over SMU and Boise State, he continues to showcase qualities that NFL general managers are looking for. This, along with his 6-foot-5, 240-pound frame, athleticism and an overall weak group of quarterbacks, has put the spotlight on Allar.

It is true that the press and especially the fans seem to have a different impression of Allar. Overall, his collegiate statistics showcase his potential. He has passed for 6,167 yards, 53 touchdowns and only nine interceptions while mostly playing with an average wide receiver group. However, he has only completed 63.2% of his passes, with his best performance coming in 2024 (67.4%). Also, his athleticism has led to 543 yards and 11 touchdowns rushing.
