Colin Cowherd is no stranger to hot takes. He added to his long list earlier today when during his show he shared his thoughts on Bill Belichick and his coaching future at North Carolina, which Cowherd doesn’t believe will last very long.
Not only does Cowherd think that Belichick won’t coach in Chapel Hill in 2025, but he also has a thought about where he might find a new job:
"This is my hot take. If Philadelphia loses in the first or second round, Bill Belichick can get out of his contract in July."

At this point it is well known that Belichick’s buyout number at North Carolina drops from $10 million to only $1 million after June 1, 2025. This immediately started rumors that his time in Chapel Hill might be short lived.
However, the thought that Philadelphia (or any NFL team) would wait until the summer to name a head coach is ridiculous. In Cowherd’s scenario, Philadelphia would be without a head coach for five months. Those five months are vital to every NFL team as it includes free agency and the NFL Draft. No team would put themselves in this position.

Coach Belichick is a magnet for publicity so be prepared for similar “hot takes” in the coming months. But no matter how many you hear, he won’t be wearing green in Philly next season.
