Desmond Howard decided to spend some time during tonight’s College GameDay discussing Ohio State and Ryan Day. The Michigan-graduate then oddly discussed how he thought that the Buckeyes’ head coach was set up to fail this season.

The claim that spending top-level NIL money on players like Quinshon Judkins and Caleb Downs put too much pressure on Coach Day is mind-numbing. Every coach in the country would love to have this “problem”, but for some reason Howard believes that this was too much for Coach Day to handle.
Coach Day is 66-10 during his time in Columbus, 10-2 this season, and playing in the playoffs on Saturday night against Tennessee. He seems to have handled most of the pressure that has come his way extremely well. But the elephant in the room continues to be Michigan.
However, the Buckeyes didn’t lose to the Wolverines because of the added “pressure” that was put on Coach Day because of expensive transfers. They lost because of bad coaching preparation and gameday decisions.
