In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Colorado will win the Big 12
My Take: FACT
At the beginning of the season, nobody thought the Colorado Buffaloes would be sitting near the top of the Big 12 rankings, but here we are. After Saturday’s massive road win against Texas Tech, the Buffaloes are solely in second place in the Big 12, and look primed to make the conference championship.
Anchored by stars like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, this team is incredibly fun to watch. Deion Sanders has completely proven all the haters wrong, and this team is easily one of the best in the conference. A few weeks ago, I called for Colorado to be ranked, and now not only are they ranked, but they could find themselves in the top 15 in this week’s CFP rankings.
Colorado finishes the year with Utah, Kansas, and Oklahoma State – all winnable games – which could set them up for a face-off with the high-flying BYU Cougars. Colorado would be too much to handle for a fluky BYU team, and we very well might see Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes in the College Football Playoff.
2. Tennessee Vs. Georgia is the biggest game of the season
My Take: FACT
Some would have said that Georgia-Bama would be the biggest game of the season, but this week’s matchup between the Dawgs and Vols could very well help decide the SEC.

After Georgia’s loss to Ole Miss, Kirby Smart‘s team needs a win at home to avoid being eliminated from the CFP. Tennessee comes in riding a 4-game win streak after their surprising loss against Arkansas, but QB Nico Iamaleava was injured in their win against Mississippi State on Saturday.
Josh Heupel anticipates that Iamaleava will be good to go on Saturday -which is great news for Tennessee and college football fans. With Carson Beck and the Georgia offense struggling immensely, Tennessee has the opportunity to end the Dawgs season, in Sanford Stadium nonetheless.
3. Notre Dame is a pretender
My Take: FICTION
After the surprising home loss to Northern Illinois in week two, most of the country was quick to write off the Fighting Irish. Since that game, Notre Dame is 7-0, including two wins against ranked opponents. The Irish buried lowly Florida State 52-3 on Saturday, with QB Riley Leonard looking great while doing so. This team depends on Leonard, and if he continues to play well, this Irish team could very well make noise.
The Irish finish the season against Army and USC, two difficult opponents. These two games will really tell a lot about the Irish, with a win in both games, the Irish will be a high-seeded playoff team, and this could finally be the year Marcus Freeman finds postseason success.
