Lane Kiffin, Eli Drinkwitz and my other Florida Gators choices

Here are my top 10 choices to be the next head coach at Florida

Who I’d want as the next head coach if I’m a Gators fan.

1. Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss

I’ve said he won’t take the job but he would be perfect despite the loss to Kentucky and his team being perhaps overhyped. Kiffin has swagger and this job requires that. He would block out the noise previous coaches couldn’t.

2. Eli Drinkwitz, Missouri

He’s a very solid coach, he’s a good offensive mind and if he could handle the pressure he’d be a great fit.

3. Lance Leipold, Kansas

Kansas has struggled this season but he’s a great coach who has done more with less. If Gators fans want to a guy who can make players work harder and turn 3 stars into 4 stars he’s the guy.

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

4. Mark Stoops, Kentucky

He pushed Georgia to their limit, beat Ole Miss and has done an amazing job at a hoops school. He’s not an exciting hire but he’s a good coach who will have success similar to Mullen at the very least.

5. Glenn Schumann, UGA DC

Maybe they don’t want a first time head coach but the pedigree is amazing and Kirby Smart and Dan Lanning aren’t doing so bad from a similar tree.

6. Alex Golesh, USF

From a 1-11 program to a bowl last season and a competitive team with little talent or depth. He could do some fun things at Florida.

7. Jamey Chadwell, Liberty

Some like him better than I do and I doubt they’d go Group of Five again but if they do he’s not a bad choice.

8. GJ Kinne, Texas State

I like him better than most for this position and the offense would be so much fun.

9. Jedd Fisch, Washington

I’m not a huge fan and things aren’t starting well in Washington but what he did at Arizona was impressive.

10. Andy Kotelnicki, Penn State OC

And out of the box selection who would be a first time head coach but his absence in Kansas is telling and he’s making PSU better.
