In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Nothing has changed at USC.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The defense looks a little better but there are still tackling issues and the offensive line looks as inept as ever. Michigan had zero passing game or even a threat of a passing game and USC still couldn’t stop them. Under Lincoln Riley they are still too soft and lack the grit needed and the Big Ten will expose them.
2. Notre Dame will run the table.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
This version of Notre Dame football is kinda gross. Purdue clearly sucks and obviously Texas A&M isn’t legit and without a threatening passing game the offense is sluggish and will struggle. I foresee 2-3 more losses as they just lack the skill talent to come close to winning the table.

3. NC State was the most overrated pre-season team.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Luckily for the Wolfpack, Florida State exists but they are close. Some people had NC State as a sleeper playoff team which seems insane now that they’ve had their doors blown off by Tennessee and Clemson. The ‘Noles run away with this honor and Kansas and Notre Dame can make a case but I have NC State as the No. 2 most disappointing team.
