It’s constantly implausible. What am I talking about? The lies coming from the Deion Sanders camp. The North Dakota State game is a great example as Coach Prime tried to explain away passing the ball at the end of the game when a few runs (or kneel downs) would have given the Bison less than 10 seconds with the ball at the end of the game.
Deion said it was his son Shedeur checking to a pass near the end of the game to help get one of his receivers some more statistics to even up with Jimmy Horn Jr. and Travis Hunter. That’s just the kind of unselfish and caring kid he is. Shedeur said he checked into the pass because it was “cover zero” and it felt disrespectful for North Dakota State to crowd the box. And we, as college football fans, are considered idiots once again?

Deion wants you to think Shedeur is such a great kid he wanted to help out one of his teammates at the end of a game. Shedeur wants you to think he and his WR group are so good that you can’t disrespect them with coverage packages even when it’s beyond obvious they should just run the ball and win the game. And the real truth? They both want to pad his stats.
His dad, the king of Daddy Ball in football, doesn’t care his QB son checked to a pass when it could have cost the entire team the game. Why? Because that’s his baby boy. Shedeur just wanted to reach 500 yards passing and didn’t care if it jeopardized a loss for the rest of the team. Why? Because he learned selfishness from his dad. Yet here we are asked to belief it’s just Shedeur being Shedeur, a super nice kid who wants to help others and is so competitive that he can’t resist being aggressive. This is called situational football and Coach Prime is obviously horrible at it and so is his son.
Jason Whitlock, love him or hate him, summed it up best…
Deion had the most incredible explanation for one of the most selfish plays I’ve ever seen to end the game. He thinks that Shedeur’s a good kid and that’s just in his character to try to help his wide receiver get more yards like the other receivers. That’s a lie. pic.twitter.com/zuRCfKln3Q

This will eventually cost Colorado games. This is why Shedeur got sacked more than 50 times last season and why Deion demoted a legit offensive coordinator in Sean Lewis (since hired as a head coach at San Diego State) last season. Because it’s all about Shedeur and his stats. Team ball be shunned.

And even though we all know this, we still have to listen to their lies and false explanations. It would have been karma had that North Dakota State Hail Mary pass been five yards longer and Colorado would have lost. The explanations of Shedeur being generous and such a competitor would have fallen on deaf ears and Coach Prime would have been destroyed in the press. But Colorado is 1-0 with a narrow escape over a FCS team despite the lack of situational awareness in coaching (and QB).
This is going to be an interesting ride and I don’t see it ending well because the selfishness of the dad passed on to the son obviously can’t be fixed.
