How Does a Coach Suck at a Blue Blood?

How is it possible to suck at a Blue Blood program? These five head coaches figured it out

1. John Blake, Oklahoma

How on earth can you go 12-22 at Oklahoma when you are after Barry Switzer and before Bob Stoops? I know he didn’t inherit a program directly from Switzer and there were a few blips before him but he was historically awful, may he rest in peace.

2. Scott Frost, Nebraska

He won a national title at Nebraska as a player but as a coach he was simply over his head and terrible. He finished 16-31 and lost too many close games. It was painful to watch.

3. Charlie Strong, Texas

He never had a winning season at Texas and finished 16-21 overall. Since 1894 he’s one of only two Texas coaches to finish their career under .500. That’s astonishing.

4. Gerry Faust, Notre Dame

He went 30-26-1 when it was nearly impossible to lose at Notre Dame. He had two losing seasons in five years.

5. Rich Rodriguez, Michigan

I still say to this day that had he been given more time he would have been amazing, but his 15-22 record is embarrassing. He has the worst winning percentage in Michigan football history. Ouch.
