With action in the transfer portal slowing down, it is time to take a closer look at how each P4 school did during this cycle. Up now are the TCU Horned Frogs

The skinny: TCU’s run to the National Championship Game in 2023 already seems like an eternity ago. Head coach Sonny Dykes continued to reload the roster during this transfer cycle in hopes of getting the Horned Frogs back in position to contend in the Big 12 and nationally. While TCU was busy trying to strengthen several positions, the priority was the offensive line which received a complete overhaul. Will the new unit blend together quickly enough to help carry the Horned Frogs to a successful season?

Key losses: DL Damonic Williams (Oklahoma)

Key additions: WR Eric McAlister (Boise State), TE Drake Dabney (Baylor), DB JaTravis Broughton (Utah), OL Bless Harris (Florida State), DE Devean Deal (Tulane), OL Cade Bennett (San Diego State), WR Braylon James (Notre Dame), LB Kaleb Elarms-Orr (Cal), DB Cameron Smith (Memphis), DL Nana Osafo-Mensah (Notre Dame), OL James Brockermeyer (Alabama)

Final thoughts: Having Damonic Williams transfer to Oklahoma was a huge blow for the defense, but overall, the Horned Frogs won this portal cycle. The offensive line added multiple pieces, which also means that the depth chart battles will linger into the summer. Three of the names to keep an eye on are Cade Bennett, James Brockermeyer and Bless Harris. The wide receiver position was bolstered with Braylon James and Eric McAlister, while a void at tight end was filled with Drake Dabney. Defensively, all three levels added talent and depth. Nana Osafo-Mensah and Devean Deal will immediately help the line, Kaleb Elarms-Orr brings experience and productivity from Cal and JaTravis Broughton and Cameron Smith are potential playmakers in the secondary. Nobody is expecting another magical playoff run in 2024, but TCU hopes their additions can make them a player in the revamped Big 12.
