Five coaches who seem to be national laughingstocks. These are guys when if you write anything positive you get met with ridicule.
1. Deion Sanders, Colorado
Deion is No. 1 easily as his 4-8 record in Power Four and his brash and arrogance make people angry. His cult members will defend him endlessly but the rest of the college football world seems to look at him as a joke.
2. Mario Cristobal, Miami
It’s hard to compete with Deion in this category but honestly, Cristobal is close. This guy has won the PAC 12 twice and beat Ohio State in Columbus and yet everyone except Miami fans think he’s a joke. Maybe it’s not kneeling which resulted in two losses, but whatever it is, the outrage is strong when positive things are said.

3. Billy Napier, Florida
Napier could be a dead man walking at Florida but he’s a good guy and solid coach. But the fact that the Gators job might have been over his head and how his recruiting has been subpar is constantly pointed out when you say anything nice.
4. Dabo Swinney, Clemson
This one confuses me as Dabo has won two national titles at a place that likely wouldn’t sniff even one without him. It’s probably because he’s a bit corny in his approach and his strong religious beliefs don’t help but write anything good about Dabo and stand back.

5. Hugh Freeze, Auburn
The jokes about Freeze and his issues at Ole Miss ring out loud the second you mention he’s a good coach. The guy did an amazing job at Ole Miss and at Liberty but national hatred towards him is strong.
