With action in the transfer portal slowing down, it is time to take a closer look at how each P4 school did during this cycle. Up now are the Purdue Boilermakers
The skinny: Head coach Ryan Walters’ first season at Purdue showed some potential, but also finished at 4-8. Since then, the Boilermakers have seen 31 scholarship players enter the transfer portal, including their most productive wide receivers and their top defensive player. With an abundance of incoming transfers arriving, there are as many questions as answers as we head towards the 2024 season.

Total # entries into portal: 37
Total # of scholarship players who entered portal: 31

Key losses: WR Deion Burks (Oklahoma), DL Nic Scourton (Texas A&M), WR Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen (USF), WR TJ Sheffield (UConn)
Key additions: OL DJ Wingfield (New Mexico), OL Corey Stewart (Ball State), RB Reggie Love (Illinois), WR CJ Smith (Georgia), DE CJ Madden (Georgia), DB Nyland Green (Georgia), DB Kyndrich Breedlove (Colorado)
Final thoughts: After graduations and portal departures, Purdue had a multitude of holes to fill. The wide receiver position was a major concern, with CJ Smith being the most likely addition to make an impact in 2024. The Boilermakers also added two additional Georgia transfers, DE CJ Madden and DB Nyland Green, to their defense. Madden will try and replace Nic Scourton, one of the more productive defensive players in the Big Ten last season, while Green was needed to improve a secondary that never fully clicked in 2023. On offense, the line was a strong point last season, so the hope is that DJ Wingfield and Corey Stewart will seamlessly slide into the starting five and continue that trend. With all of the transition, if Purdue is able to fight their way into a bowl game it would be a major victory for coach Walters in season two.
