With action in the transfer portal slowing down, it is time to take a closer look at how each P4 school did during this cycle. Up now are the Miami (Florida) Hurricanes
The skinny: Since his return to Coral Cables, head coach Mario Cristobal has been very aggressive with his use of the transfer portal. Up to this point that aggression has produced a mixed bag of results. That philosophy continued during this cycle, and on paper it is difficult not to be impressed with what the Canes were able to add to their roster for the 2024 season. Now it will be interesting to see how that translates to the field.

Key losses: WR Colbie Young (Georgia), DL Jayden Wayne (Washington), LB Corey Flagg Jr. (Missouri), DB Savion Riley (Colorado)
Key additions: QB Cameron Ward (Washington State), DL Tyler Baron (Louisville), DL Simeon Barrow Jr. (Michigan State), WR Sam Brown (Houston), RB Damien Martinez (Oregon State), DB Mishael Powell (Washington), OL Zach Carpenter (Indiana), DL CJ Clark (NC State)
Final thoughts: The Canes successfully strengthened several positions on both sides of the ball, while only experiencing a few noticeable losses. On offense, Cameron Ward has been one of the more productive quarterbacks in the country during his time at Washington State (and FCS Incarnate Word before that). To help him with his adjustment, the Canes also added one of the top running backs of this cycle, Damien Martinez, and a dynamic playmaking wide receiver, Sam Brown. Defensively, the line reloaded by adding Tyler Baron, Simeon Barrow Jr. and CJ Clark, who should help form one of the top units in the ACC and possibly the country. And in the secondary, Mishael Powell will be a starter with playmaking abilities. Coach Cristobal will be questioned loudly if the Canes don’t put together a successful season in 2024.
