With action in the transfer portal slowing down, it is time to take a closer look at how each P4 school did during this cycle. Up now are the LSU Tigers
The skinny: Since his arrival from Notre Dame, head coach Brian Kelly has successfully used the portal in an efficient manner. That continued during this cycle, with several key additions who should immediately improve the team both offensively and defensively. Surprisingly, some of this improvement comes at positions that are usually areas of strength in Baton Rouge, most notably the secondary and wide receiver.

Key losses: OL Lance Heard (Tennessee), WR Jalen Brown (Florida State), RB Logan Diggs (Ole Miss), DL Jaxon Howard (Minnesota)
Key additions: WR CJ Daniels (Liberty), DB Jardin Gilbert (Texas A&M), DB Jyaire Brown (Ohio State), DL Gio Paez (Wisconsin)
Final thoughts: The Tigers added WR CJ Daniels in the hopes that he would compliment Kyren Lacy, who many believe is on the verge of a breakout season. And his performance this spring solidified these hopes, as Daniels showcased all the abilities that made him a top receiving target during this cycle. On defense, LSU needed an interior lineman and found one with Gio Paez, who brings size and experience. Even if he doesn’t start, he will become a regular part of the rotation. And the best addition for the Tigers was Jardin Gilbert. The Baton Rouge native returns home and has already sealed up a starting safety spot. By the end of the season, don’t be surprised if he is considered one of the top transfer additions of this cycle.
