With action in the transfer portal slowing down, it is time to take a closer look at how each P4 school did during this cycle. Up now are the Iowa Hawkeyes
The skinny: Considering Iowa has only had a combined 20 scholarship players enter the transfer portal over the last two years, their ability to be active in the transfer portal is somewhat limited. However, the limited portal access has not hindered head coach Kirk Ferentz from proving that the portal also isn’t necessary, as the Hawkeyes have gone a combined 28-13 during the last three seasons.

Total # entries into portal: 15
Total # of scholarship players who entered portal: 9
Number of scholarship players who withdrew: 0

Key losses: OL Kadyn Proctor (Alabama), WR Jacob Bostick (Texas A&M)
Key additions: QB Brendan Sullivan (Northwestern), OL Cade Borud (North Dakota)
Final thoughts: While there wasn’t much action for Iowa during this portal cycle, they also managed to get entangled in one of the more bizarre situations of this cycle. The apparent signing of All-American OL Kadyn Proctor, who was set to return to his home state after one season at Alabama, quickly disappeared as he instead decided to return to Tuscaloosa. This was a huge loss for the Hawkeyes considering they have unexpectedly experienced some issues on their offensive line recently. Iowa did add veteran QB Brendan Sullivan after losing three quarterbacks to the portal, and while he arrived as a preferred walk-on, Cade Borud has a chance to be very valuable down the road at center or guard. Whatever the Hawkeyes do in the portal, at this point it is expected that they will still figure out a way to reach the 10-win mark and play in a big bowl game.
