The top-ranked player in his home state of Massachusetts in the 2025 class, four-star offensive lineman Hardy Watts holds over 20 offers from all over the country,
including Michigan, Wisconsin, Duke, Clemson, and Boston College.
Watts is a 6’6″ 290-pound lineman from Dexter Southfield School in Brookline, MA.
Dexter Southfield School is just an 11-minute drive from Boston College. He is Massachusetts’s
#1 overall recruit and the #12 interior offensive lineman nationally.
Watts has official visits scheduled with Clemson, Wisconsin, Duke, Michigan, and the local
program Boston College. The visit schedule is as follows: Clemson will host him from June 2-4,
followed by Wisconsin from June 7-9, Duke from June 14-16, and Ann Arbor, Michigan from
June 21-23. A date for the visit to Boston College has yet to be confirmed, but Watts
mentioned that it will likely be a midweek trip since it’s close to where he lives.
The Boston College program’s buzz has grown with Bill O’Brien taking charge, and several
highly rated recruits have shown interest in it. In March, Watts began his spring campus visits
with Boston College. He met with Head Coach O’Brien and offensive line coach Matt
Applebaum.
Last season, offensive line coach Matt Applebaum returned to BC for his second stint on
Chestnut Hill. Previously, he served as the Eagles offensive line coach between 2019-2021.
In 2023, the Eagles’ offensive line played a crucial role within the offense, powering the
second-ranked rushing attack in the ACC. The team averaged 198.8 yards per game and allowed
just 1.46 sacks per game. Four BC offensive linemen were honored with All-ACC recognition.
Christian Mahogany was a first-team selection, while Massachusetts native Ozzy Trapilo
received second-team honors. Additionally, Logan Taylor and Kyle Hergel received honorable
mentions. For 2024, two of the All-ACC linemen, Trapilo and Taylor will both be back next year.

Watts expressed that Boston College is a great school with an excellent education and is up-and-coming. He
also mentioned that it would be interesting to see how they look in the future. The recruiting
interest in Watts is highly competitive, so if BC can secure his commitment, it would be a
significant recruiting win for them.
