In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. RB Alton McCaskill has an instant impact at Arizona State.
Farrell’s take: FACT
He may not have made an impact at Colorado and his dad may have mouthed off a bit on his way out, but McCaskill is a skilled back who will fit right in with what Kenny Dillingham wants to do. 1,000 yards is a stretch but a solid 700 yard year would help.

2. Florida should mess with CB Cormani McClain.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Why? McClain and his family played with Florida and Miami before heading to Colorado and he’s been a headache since high school. So why would Florida mess with him even as a walk on as discussed? If they push for him it’s a sign that Billy Napier is desperate because it will be a fool me twice situation.

3. QB Mike Wright starts right away at Northwestern.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The former Vandy standout didn’t do much at Mississippi State, but he has talent, and Northwestern needs a QB. This is a good fit for a kid who’s been experienced in the SEC, has matured, and is ready to run an offense that will utilize his abilities and allow him to extend the play.
