In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Auburn can pull the upset for WR CJ Wiley.
Farrell’s take: FACT
I know UGA is considered the leader for the Alpharetta star and that LSU and Florida State, as well as USC, have officials scheduled, but his visit to Auburn was a good one. As they say, the bar has been set. In this day and age, it’s easier to jump over that bar, but Auburn will stay on him and likely get another visit before he decides. UGA is hard to beat, but Auburn has a real shot.

2. Oregon steals DB Chuck McDonald from USC.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Oregon stole LB Nasir Wyatt from Mater Dei under the nose of USC but I don’t think they take McDonald. Alabama and Georgia want the 6-1 corner as well and will be tempting but if he stays close to home I think the new defensive staff at USC will make every effort to land him despite the connection with Wyatt and Oregon. I’m on USC in this one.
3. WR Kaliq Lockett is now trending for Texas A&M.
Farrell’s take: FACT
A&M was considered his leader, so it was surprising that he chose to visit USC instead. But now the USC visit is off, and A&M is back. LSU is hard to beat, and Florida State and Texas get visits as well, but the 5-star is liking the Aggies staff more and more. They are trending.
