In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. DT Jermayne Lole’s flip from Oklahoma to Texas is a big deal.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I’m not as excited as Texas fans. Lole has always been a plugger and good run stuffer, but he’s been around forever and is far removed from his best days at Arizona State. He was solid at Louisville last season and will help with depth, but he’s not a world-changer. Texas fans are bragging about this flip from OU, but it’s not a big deal to me.

2. Sam Huard is a great get for Utah.
Farrell’s take: FACT
I like this fit. Huard was overrated out of high school, but the thing he always did well was throw an accurate ball. Down the line in the Utah offense, he won’t be asked to do too much, Will have a strong run game to balance him and he can work well out of play action and throw some darts. He’s not a prolific passer at the college level, at least to me, so this is a great balanced offensive fit.

3. OT Andrew Chamblee is a difference-maker for SMU.
Farrell’s take: FACT
He was an elite freshman last year for Arkansas, and as SMU enters the ACC, he’s a plug-and-play starter. SMU is a solid team and will surprise some folks in the ACC while the focus will be on Stanford and Cal moving across the country. I think SMU makes the biggest impact of the new three, and Chamblee will play a big part in Rhett Lashlee’s balanced offense.
