The draft is now finished for 2024 folks, with all of the rounds now
completed as well as free agents signing after the draft. As always, there will be a lot of opinions with some being spot-on, others being downright outrageous. Now, everyone GM feels good about themselves
along with their picks, but some are very questionable. Here I will
give my day two and three losers.
1. Minnesota Vikings
After the first day of the draft, the Vikings were clear
winners having picked JJ McCarthy with the 10th overall pick, and Dallas Turner with the 17th overall pick. They
filled two immediate needs that should pay off, but everything past that is questionable. They basically mortgaged their whole draft for
those two first-round picks which usually doesn’t work out well.
So for that, they go with the losers after day one.

2. Carolina Panthers
While I do love the first two selections of Xavier
Legette in the first round with the 32nd overall pick and Jonathon Brooks at 46, I personally don’t like much else they did. The first two
will be much-needed help for Bryce Young, but the others to me will
be projects. A couple may surprise such as Ja’Tavion Sanders, but
that will be until further notice.

3. Las Vegas Raiders
After days one and two. the Las Vegas Raiders selected
maybe the top players at their position in the entire draft with tight
end Brock Bowers, and center Jackson Powers-Johnson. Both were
All-Americans and should help out the team immediately being plug-and-play prospects. With that being said, the Raiders still haven’t addressed
their QB position, which is in dire need. While the top QB prospects
went ahead of them, they still could have made a move or even traded
up to get one later on. I actually like the draft class as a whole, but the main
position still needs to be figured out, and quick.

4. RB AJ Dillon, Green Bay Packers
After Aaron Jones’ departure earlier this year, the bell cow
from Boston College AJ Dillon was expected to take over. The only
problem with that is they quickly replaced him with Josh Jacobs
in free agency. To add insult to injury, the Packers went and
drafted USC running back MarShawn Lloyd, whom I love, with the
88th overall pick. Not only do Dillon and Lloyd play similarly, but
he may even be a better fit. Mr. Dillon may not be the happiest
about his role next season.

5. WR Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
Not only did the Cincinnati Bengals franchise tag Higgins
to his disliking, but they also went out and drafted a wide receiver as
well in Alabama’s Jermaine Burton with the 80th overall pick. That
alone should be the writing on the wall. While Higgins recently said he plans on being with Cincinnati this season, he still
wanted to be traded, but no deal came about. This season very well
may be the last for Higgins with the Bengals as I see no happy
ending here.
