In today’s Fact or Fiction — NFL Draft edition — I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. The Steelers won the draft.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I like what the Steelers did with OT Troy Fautanu and C Zach Frazier and I love the value of LB Payton Wilson but those saying they won the draft are missing the Washington Commanders. Jayden Daniels is the obvious choice and who knows if he will be great or injury-plagued but behind him there are some great picks. DT Johnny Newton from Illinois and CB Mike Sainristill are elite talents and TE Ben Sinnott could be one of the steals of the draft. This was a deep and value-laden draft for the Commanders.

2. Spencer Rattler should have fallen because of the QB1 documentary.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Yes, he was arrogant, annoying, and downright awful in the documentary but that was a long time ago. Since then he’s lost his starting job, transferred, played on a team with limited OL talent, and never unraveled. I’m not saying he’s an elite talent or a super mature kid, but he’s different than he was back in high school, and sliding for that reason seems iffy.

3. The Eagles once again got a steal.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The Eagles have done it again getting the No. 1 and No. 2 corners in the draft on my lists somehow. I had Iowa’s Cooper DeJean No. 1 at corner and he slid to them in round two. Toledo’s Quinyon Mitchell is on everyone’s top three and was No. 2 on my list. The Eagles continue to evaluate well and also get a bit lucky.
