In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Dylan Edwards is a massive loss for Colorado.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Edwards was a running back and receiver threat for Colorado with mild stats but a lot of promise. What he lacked in physicality he made up for in versatility and speed. But that’s not the only thing that hurts about his loss. Edwards is landing at Kansas State which is now a rival of Colorado in the Big 12 so it’s a double whammy. There’s no way to spin this one, it hurts.

2. Damien Martinez becomes RB1 in the ACC.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
UNC’s Omarion Hampton is the best running back in the ACC coming off a 1,500-yard season so I have Martinez as No. 2 with LeQuint Allen at No. 3. Martinez is a very good pickup for Miami and will instantly help the offense so there is no hate, but people seem to be forgetting how good Hampton is.

3. Jaden Rashada is a difference-maker for UGA.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I’m not sold. Rashada showed flashes last year at Arizona State and was a big name out of high school but until he sticks around somewhere I won’t be convinced. Carson Beck is the man and there is a lot of talent behind him so it’s not like Rashada is waking in as the heir apparent. He’ll need to stay patient and go through adversity to be of value.
