The dumbest picks in round one of the NFL Draft.
1. QB Michael Penix Jr. to the Atlanta Falcons
— I don’t need to go into this much. Penix Jr. is solid although top-10 is way too high but for the Falcons to take him after paying Kirk Cousins — that makes no sense.
2. QB Bo Nix to the Denver Broncos
— I had Penix Jr. with a round two grade if this league weren’t so QB desperate and Nix is there with him. This is not a top-12 talent.
3. DE Chop Robinson to the Miami Dolphins
— With all the elite corners available as well as DT Johnny Newton, it seems strange to go hybrid EDGE here.

4. DE Laiatu Latu to the Indianapolis Colts
— They wanted Brock Bowers but he was gone so I thought corner or perhaps a WR Brian Thomas Jr. pick would make more sense. Latu is overrated.
5. OT Jordan Morgan to the Green Bay Packers
— Morgan is a second-round talent they could have waited on or perhaps traded up for in round two. I’m not sure he’s a round-one kid.
