1. Commanders go Drake Maye

— Everyone seems to think it will be QB Jayden Daniels for the Commanders at No. 2 but they could legitimately go Drake Maye from UNC. It would surprise some folks and probably make New England fans happy.

Nov 11, 2023; Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA; North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Drake Maye (10) looks to pass as Duke Blue Devils linebacker Tre Freeman (12) defends in the first overtime at Kenan Memorial Stadium.

2. Chargers go OL

— Jim Harbaugh loves the OL so the temptation of going Malik Nabers at WR (or Marvin Harrison Jr. if he’s there) is real but don’t be shocked if Harbaugh just locks in on OT Joe Alt or JC Latham.

Sep 9, 2023; Raleigh, North Carolina, USA; Notre Dame Fighting Irish tackle Joe Alt (76) during the first half at Carter-Finley Stadium.

3. Cowboys go WR

— They need OL and defensive help but Jerry Jones likes to make a splash and I wouldn’t be stunned to see them make a mistake and reach for a WR to help out Dak Prescott.

Sep 17, 2022; Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA; LSU Tigers wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (11) runs against Mississippi State Bulldogs linebacker Nathaniel Watson (14) during the first half at Tiger Stadium.

4. Raiders trade up

— The Raiders need a QB badly and covet JJ McCarthy and Michael Penix Jr. depending on who you talk to. They could try to make a move up big time.

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

Oct 14, 2023; Seattle, Washington, USA; Washington Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (9) passes the ball against the Oregon Ducks during the first half at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.

5. Bills and Chiefs stay away from WR

— The Bills have no WR1 and the Chiefs have a ton of WR3 guys but this draft is so deep that they could forgo round-one picks and go defense and offensive line respectively.

Sep 16, 2023; Pasadena, California, USA; UCLA Bruins defensive lineman Laiatu Latu (15) celebrates after intercepting a pass against the North Carolina Central Eagles during the first half at Rose Bowl.
