In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Quinshon Judkins heads back to Ole Miss in the portal.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

This is a rumor that’s out there, but it won’t happen. While Judkins had great success at Ole Miss and may regret leaving despite making great NIL money at Ohio State, he was a nightmare for Lane Kiffin and wouldn’t be welcomed back even if he wanted to return. Not sure where this rumor started but it’s a bad one.

Dec 30, 2023; Atlanta, GA, USA; Mississippi Rebels running back Quinshon Judkins (4) stiff arms Penn State Nittany Lions defensive end Jameial Lyons (19) in the second half at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

2. Nebraska will add a veteran QB in the spring portal window.

Farrell’s take: FACT

I don’t have a name yet so don’t ask, but Matt Rhule will target an experienced QB to push Dylan Raiola and mentor him as well. This isn’t the NFL, so you can’t really sign a clipboard guy to help a younger QB develop, but the right situation will be there for someone with some experience, and it will help the Huskers greatly.

Jan 3, 2024; Lincoln, Nebraska, USA; Nebraska Cornhuskers football assistant coach Donovan Raiola (left) and Dylan Raiola smile before the game against the Indiana Hoosiers at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Dylan is the top quarterback recruit in the 2024 class.

3. RB Henry Parrish will be RB1 at Ole Miss.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Parrish led Miami in rushing the last two seasons, and while he’s not a star and didn’t put up crazy numbers, he can go home as a starter. RB coach Kevin Smith is the key here, and Parrish is most likely headed back to Ole Miss, where he came from and has the talent to start. Ulysses Bentley IV is back, and redshirt freshman Kedrick Reescano is talented, but Parrish will be RB1 when he heads back there.

Oct 22, 2022; Miami Gardens, Florida, USA; Miami Hurricanes running back Henry Parrish Jr. (21) runs with the football during the first quarter against the Duke Blue Devils at Hard Rock Stadium.
