In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. USC is the hottest team in the country.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Ohio State can make a case as the Buckeyes have landed four big commits over the last many days led by Florida stars London Merritt and Tarvos Alford, but Lincoln Riley and his staff are on fire. Six commits in the last nine days and counting have USC in my national top 10 for the 2025 class. Georgia DT Justus Terry leads the way as they have landed commits from Georgia, Texas, Florida, and California. And five of them are defensive players, which is massive for a unit that has struggled mightily under Lincoln Riley.

2. RB Jordon Davison lands at Ohio State.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The Buckeyes vs. Texas battle that reminded me of Bijan Robinson back in the day is headed Ohio State’s way. Texas had the lead but the hire of RBs coach Carlos Locklyn and a recent visit have flipped things. It’s not over for the California RB but the momentum is towards Ohio State right now.
A 38-yard TD run from Jordon Davison on 3rd and 7 ends this thing. Mater Dei will most likely win 17-7. pic.twitter.com/uIxuJPoSvu

3. DT Justus Terry sticks at USC.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The Georgia DT decommitted from UGA and flipped to USC recently but then was back in Athens and now everyone is confused. So this likely comes down to the best opportunity for Terry and his want to build his brand in LA and the NIL opportunities there likely win out over staying at home. Pre-NIL, I’d always lean towards the home school, but not anymore.
