Mind of Mike: Prime is Too Famous to Recruit

Deion Sanders has put the spotlight back on himself but for all the wrong reasons as a coach.

Ok before you read what I’m about to write, you gotta see this.

I don’t even know where to start

A few of the reasons Deion Sanders says he doesn’t do home visits are so ridiculous it’s hard to contain myself typing this. Money? He’s saving Colorado money? What a joke. Deion has brought so much revenue into the Buffs program that he should have zero worries about spending it by recruiting players who can allow him to win more than four games and avoid a 1-8 conference record. Deion is being frugal? Not a chance. It’s an excuse and a bad one.

But even worse than that is the excuse of fame. Coach Prime as he likes to be called says he’s too famous to visit schools and players. Why? Because if he visits one player then everyone else in the area will want him to visit. And he says he can’t because he’s “Coach Prime”. While Deion is an NFL legend and Hall of Famer and an icon, guys like Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and now Kirby Smart are and were pretty famous guys and were rock stars when they arrived at high schools and home visits. But somehow they navigated it all while Deion can’t leave his palace in Boulder. It’s another joke of an excuse.

I won’t even get into how he shames himself for growing up poor and kind of does the same to any kid he might visit who isn’t well off either or the fact that he says portal kids don’t need visits while coaches like Lane Kiffin are all over the country when the portal is open.

We all know Deion is a narcissist but it could be getting worse based on this video. Everyone knows he hasn’t gone on a home visit since he arrived in Colorado and that he’s either a short-timer or taking massive shortcuts on the payroll of the Buffs. If he wants to save money he can give some of his salary back. He’s earning it with his name but certainly not with his work ethic.
